Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) concluded the 2026 WPIAL/UPMC Sports Medicine Boys’ Tennis Singles Championships on Thursday afternoon at North Allegheny High School. The two-day tournament, which began Wednesday with opening rounds at both Bethel Park and North Allegheny, determined the individual champions and PIAA state qualifiers for Class 3A and Class 2A. North Allegheny junior Advaita Sircar earned the Class 3A title, while Belle Vernon senior Max Henson won the Class 2A championship.
Sircar’s victory marks his second WPIAL gold medal in three years, giving the North Allegheny junior an opportunity next season to become just the sixth player in WPIAL history to win three singles titles. With Sircar and runner-up Evan Kaufman (12) both representing North Allegheny, the Tigers secured both of the classification's PIAA qualifying spots.
Henson won his second straight gold medal in the singles championships and will leave Belle Vernon as the lone singles winner in school history.
The top two finishers in Class 3A and top three finishers in Class 2A have qualified for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Boys’ Tennis Singles Championships, which will be held in May at Hershey Racquet Club.
