Established in 2021 as part of the WPIAL & Pittsburgh City League Food & Fund Drive in partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, the Community Champion award is bestowed upon the schools that tabulate the most "meals" (total between money donated and food collected) in each of the six divisions, which are determined on enrollment. A total of 15 schools have earned Community Champion honors, with Winchester Thurston standing alone as the only four-time champion. Armstrong, Seneca Valley, and Southmoreland have each captured the title three times, while Central Catholic, Redeemer Lutheran, Seton LaSalle, The Ellis School, and Mohawk have earned the honor twice.
