In November of 2024, the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) and official app partner Snap! Mobile teamed up to create an award dedicated to the league's athletic directors. The Snap! Mobile Athletic Director of the Year is voted on by parents, coaches, students, peers, and school administrators, and the winner will receive special recognition on the WPIAL website and its social channels, as well as a $500 gift card for a weekend getaway. The inaugural winner will be announced on Monday, Dec. 16 to celebrate National Athletic Directors Day.
