The WPIAL/UPMC James Collins Scholarship Fund Golf Outing began in 2022 as an event to raise money for the WPIAL Scholarship Fund. The third outing will be held on Monday, June 21, 2027 at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon.
The WPIAL James Collins Scholarship Fund was created to award scholarships annually to student-athletes from schools and school districts comprising Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District VII. Since 1992, the league has given $759,000 in scholarships to its WPIAL/James Collins Scholar-Athlete Award recipients, and celebrates its 35th consecutive year of the award program in 2026.
