The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) has crowned team champions in girls' track & field since 1973. PIAA District VII has claimed a total of eight state team champions in the sport.
A total of seven different WPIAL schools have won PIAA team titles: Hempfield Area (2), Avonworth/Northgate (1), Farrell (1), Moon (1), Penn Hills (1), Quaker Valley (1), and Washington (1).
