The 2001 campaign was his finest as Washington went a perfect 15-0 and won WPIAL and PIAA championships. Montecalvo also served as head coach of both the boys and girls track teams at Washington for 13 years. His girls' team captured the WPIAL and PIAA titles in 1996, while his boys' team won the 1998 WPIAL crown. 24 members of his quads earned WPIAL gold. Guy later coached football at Canon-McMillan High School for seven seasons and finished his career with a 225-107-2 record.
