Joseph M. Hardiman Ill has been a registered Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association official since the 1974-75 season. Between 1977 and 1980, he transferred his registration to work games in the State of Ohio. After that, he returned to the Keystone state and resumed officiating baseball, softball, basketball, and volleyball. During his time wearing the striped shirt, Hardiman has held a number of positions within the different various PIAA chapters of which he is a member. Currently, Joe serves as the WPIAL and PIAA District 8 volleyball rules interpreter. It is a post he has held for over 20 years. Beginning in 1981, Hardiman has consistently been selected to work WPIAL, Pittsburgh City League, and PIAA inner-district volleyball tournaments. He also officiated both the boys and girls WPIAL, District 8, and PIAA finals over the years. Joe also continues to serve as a collegiate volleyball official and has enjoyed a stellar career at both levels of the game
