In WPIAL football coaching annals, there is an “Art” to winning. He is one of only four coaches in WPIAL history to win six football championships. He won five during his 21 years at Mt. Lebanon (1967-87) and one more in his five years (1994-98) at Shady Side Academy. His all-time record was 207-73-6.
